Homebodies everywhere are getting back to the reality of pre-Covid, where, for better or for worse, they’re having to get up and get out of the house in the morning. It's hard to look and feel your best when you're running late and haven't had time to truly get ready for the day. The key is to make sure that you start out on the right foot. In this blog post, we'll share with you five steps that will help you look and feel your best in the morning.

Have a healthy breakfast

Start the day with a healthy breakfast to give you energy for the whole day ahead! You can make overnight oats with fruits to have a fast healthy breakfast. Also, remember to get your caffeine fix with tea or coffee. However there’s a caveat: some say that the best time to drink coffee is an hour after waking. This is due to high levels of cortisol being produced in that first hour, which can counterfeit and thus dampen the effects of the caffeine. So, either get out of bed a little earlier, drink a big glass of warm or room temperature water (a great habit I’ve tried to keep up) and wait for coffee time, or just put it off until you reach your workplace.

Take a shower

Taking a hot or cold shower will help you wake up and feel fresher and revitalized after a night of slumber! Living in Asia got me in the habit of showering before bed, but I still hop in the shower (cold is awesome if you can handle it!) for a splash of alertness on those particularly groggy mornings. If you are short on time, skip washing your hair and do it at night instead.

Apply a moisturizer to your skin

This will help lock in all of the moisture for the day ahead, as well as make sure that you have no dry patches! This will also make your skin dewy so it’ll look more smooth, glowy, and supple. Also, remember to moisturize your lips with lip balm.

Also remember to put on sunscreen. The sun is stronger in the morning than at any other time of day. Put on a lightweight moisturizer with SPF to protect your skin from damage and premature aging!

Put two of the most important make-up items for you

A lot of people go for mascara and lipstick or mascara and eyebrows. Two beauty essentials are enough to get your makeup off to an awesome start before heading out of the door.

Dress in something that is comfortable for you

This is important because it will help you feel good about yourself, as well as make sure that your morning goes by smoothly! Feeling comfortable and that you’re wearing something that suits you will help you feel ready in the morning to face the big bad world out there.
